Michael Biondo is a New York and Connecticut-based photographer specializing in architecture and design.
He studied Photography, Graphic Design, and Art History at the Pratt Institute where he earned a BFA. Beginning his career in fashion photography, he divided his time between New York, Los Angeles, and Paris. His clients during this period included Interview Magazine, W Magazine, Elle, Sony Music, Giorgio Armani, Valentino, Neiman Marcus, and Saks Fifth Avenue. After twenty years in fashion photography, his work shifted to architecture and design-related subjects.
Biondo contributed photographs to Rizzoli’s 2014 monograph, Allan Greenberg: Classical Architect; Design Book’s 50 U.S. Architects, published in 2015; and Inventive Minimalism, Monacelli Press, 2017. He co-authored and photographed Mid-Century Houses Today, Monacelli, 2015. His photographs have appeared in Architectural Digest, the Wall Street Journal, Architizer, Dwell, a+u Magazine and other publications.
Recent projects have included architectural photography for The National Trust for Historic Preservation, the Brant Foundation, a+u Magazine and The Glass House.
Biondo has served as a jury member with the Greenwich Historical Society’s Architectural Recognition Program and as a board member at the New Canaan Society for the Arts.
